Celebrating Staff LogoEvery week we celebrate SMCDSB staff members who have been recognized by a parent, student, or colleague.

This week, we are celebrating Alana Aymar, Michelle Durelle, and Kelly Edgecomb.

Alana is a teacher at St. Bernadette Catholic School. She Alana Aymar was nominated by a student who said:

“Mrs. Aymar is one of the most generous teachers I have had yet. She makes sure all her students are prepared for tests and she always tries her best. With her as my teacher I know there's nothing in this world I can't learn. Not only does she teach me and my classmates but she shows us how we can be more responsible and respectful people by being herself. Best teacher ever! Thank you.”

Michelle DurelleMichelle is a School Office Assistant at Patrick Fogarty Catholic Secondary School. She was nominated by a colleague who said:

“Michelle is the first person to greet staff/students/outside agencies as they come into the Main Office. All of Patrick Fogarty is so blessed to have Michelle Durelle as a part of their school day. She has developed such a unique relationship with all of them and in a way no other person could possibly duplicate. She is beyond helpful, she juggles all kinds of requests/concerns (which is a constant in her day), with such patience, knowledge, wicked sense of humour, and genuine sincerity. She wears many hats, to name just a few - mom, counsellor, friend, “go to” person, and #1 fan of the Montreal Canadiens. It is so lovely to see students who drop by just to say hello to her. A true testament to her approachability. It is such a joy to work with her and hear her laughter on a daily basis.”

Kelly Edgecomb is a DECE at St. Bernadette Catholic Kelly Edgecomb School. Kelly was nominated by a parent, who said:

“Although it’s been a few years since my son has been in kindergarten, we will never forget Miss Edgecombe. She was the first person my four-year-old son trusted and would leave me for. She made the difference between an awful, and a great, drop off experience. I am pretty sure my son cried until Christmas! Over the years, she has taught my younger daughter, and kept in touch. She is truly a gem among teachers. She’s a fantastic member of your team!”

We would like to thank Alana, Michelle, and Kelly for their commitment to Catholic education at our board.
