Child Care

There are a number of schools throughout our board that work with community partners to offer child care programs on site. Some of the schools participate in the province of Ontario's Best Start Program (Best Start), some are offering programs as part of the province's Full Day Kindergarten program (Before and After) and others have independently operated child care facilities (Centres) on-site.

Child Care Centres: Stand alone centre attached to the school which provides supervision of children within age categories of infant, toddler, and preschool.

Before and After School Programs: Child care within the school for students in kindergarten to Grade 6 who need care before and/or after the regular school day hours.

EarlyON Child and Family Centres: Free drop-in programs for families and children from birth to 6 years old.
Beginning March 2, 2020, St. Bernard's Catholic School in Orillia will serve as an EarlyON Child and Family Satellite site. This drop-in centre offers free programs for parents and caregivers of children prenatal to six years of age. Drop by every Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1 - 4 p.m. Visit www.earlyonsimcoenorth.ca for more information.

Before School Only Fee: $11.00
After School Only Fee: $16.00
PA day, School Holiday Fee: $39.50

*Fees are subject to change; notice will be posted in the event of a change to the fees.

Families can apply for a child care subsidy if their child is enrolled in a before and/or after school program.  Please contact the child care operator listed for your school for more information regarding registering your child.
