The students at Foley Catholic School, in Brechin, got to participate in a week of french, with many fun activities taking place in French.

On Monday the students enjoyed the production of “Le petit chaperon rouge (Little Red Riding Hood)”. The play was hilarious and very engaging for students.

Tuesday

On Tuesday students enjoyed chatting with Lauretta Reid, who was the subject of Robert Munsch’s book, “Zoom”. Lauretta is a resident of Orillia, and a graduate of an extended French program. She spoke about her experiences with “Zoom”, spina bifida, horse therapy and French. Her session with primary students was conducted mostly in English, and with the older students, in French.

WednesdayOn Wednesday, students went to the Orillia Opera House to participate in an exciting, participatory concert by Gregg LeRock, singing along to favourite songs “Terry Fox” and “Au Canada.”

They wrapped up the week on Thursday with Voyageur Games. Students competed in a variety of games of strength modelled after traditional events to gain spirit team points.
