STS’s China Mission Trip team is hosting a fundraising gala at Woodington Lake Golf Club!

In May, a group of dedicated students and staff from St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary School in Tottenham will be embarking on a mission trip to China where they will be volunteering in a rural village and exploring the historical capital, Beijing. On March 25th, the group will be hosting a fundraising gala at Woodington Lake Golf Club in order to raise money and awareness for their trip.

The China Mission Trip Program is run through EF Tours and Me to We; the two companies have partnered together to offer “sustainable and immersive volunteer based travel.” While in China, the STS students will be spending a week working in a Free the Children community to help develop the area in ways such as building a school, or teaching English to the local children. The STS students are extremely grateful for this life-changing opportunity to make a difference in the world, and they are excited to host the fundraising gala in order to share their enthusiasm and gain support from the community.

The gala will have a “Festival of Lights” theme and will consist of a four course dinner, silent auction, DJ, live entertainment, prizes, and various other activities. The participating students will be assisting with the event and doing a presentation related to their trip. Local businesses have supported the trip by donating amazing prizes that will be available to be won at the gala.

Those interested in attending this fun event and supporting a great cause may contact the office of STS for ticket information and more information about the gala.
