Holy Cross Plants Canadian Flag out of Flowers

A few weeks ago, Ms. Balon and Ms. Dwyer of Holy Cross Catholic School in Innisfil started the Holy Cross Gardening Club. They were thrilled to have over 50 students eagerly participate and clean up the gardens at the school. Weeds were removed and gardens were replenished with fresh soil generously donated by Kell's Garden City of Innisfil.

Chief Custodian to Donate 25 Inches of Hair for Last Time

At 61 years old, Gary van Niekerk, Chief Custodian at St. Noel Chabanel Catholic School in Wasaga Beach, hardly has a grey hair in sight. For the past 13 years, Gary has been donating his hair to the Canadian Cancer Society, and at the end of the month, he will be cutting his hair one last time for Angel Hair for Kids.

All students in the province are required to complete 40 hours of community service hours in order to attain their Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). Some students however, go above and beyond the requirement. Barrie students, Mikaela and Eric, have done just that and were recently awarded the 2017 Auxiliary Student Scholarship for their efforts.
