2019 Christmas Card Artwork Winner
Posted on 12/06/2019

Once again this year, we received an incredible amount of student artwork for our annual Christmas card. It was tremendously difficult to choose just one winner as we received hundreds of submissions from numerous schools and grade levels. This year, we’ve decided to have one Board winner, four division winners and five honourable mentions.

We are pleased to announce that the 2019 Christmas Card Artwork winner is Raymund Concon, a Grade 12 student from St. Joan of Arc Catholic High School. Raymund was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) when he was four years old and has always shown a passion for art. He has created several paintings over the years which are available for purchase on his website pureartimpressions.com. For his Christmas card submission, Raymund spent one month painting his abstract vision of Joseph, Mary and baby Jesus. His artwork will be featured as the cover of this year’s Christmas card and will be sent out and viewed by colleagues and partners in Catholic and public education in Ontario, as well as our Premier and Prime Minister.  The Chair of the Board of Trustees and I are very excited to have such wonderful talent represent our school board.

We would also like to recognize and celebrate the division winners and honourable mentions below.

Please join us in congratulating Raymund and all of the other students who submitted their wonderful artwork.  These students not only show exceptional artistic abilities, but a great understanding of the importance of faith in the spirit of the Christmas season.  We thank all participants for sharing their artwork with us. It has been a pleasure to see the incredible talent of our students.
