Every week we celebrate SMCDSB staff members who have been recognized by a parent, student or colleague.

This week we are celebrating Susan Hrycay, Teacher at St. Mary’s Catholic School in Collingwood. Susan was nominated by a colleague, who said:

“After unexpectedly stepping into the role of a primary classroom teacher this year, my newsusan hrycay photo teaching partner Sue warmly welcomed me. She took time out of her busy schedule to help me with planning, helped me to familiarize myself with the available resources, and has always been available to share advice, and inspiration and answer the many questions I had stepping into this role. Most important though, was being able to witness her care and dedication to her students. She treats each of her students as if they are one of her own kids, and cares deeply about their well-being, and delivers them an engaging learning experience. The students and I are both lucky to have such a dedicated teacher to learn from.”

This week we are also celebrating Rebecca Paribello-Orsini, Teacher at St. Nicholas Catholic School. Rebecca was nominated by a colleague, who said:

“Mrs Paribello-Orsini is a champion teacher.  She goes above and beyond for her students, ensuring that her teaching is inclusive, faith based and manages to make sure that each student grasps the concept of the lesson.  She finds time in her very busy class to nurture and develop meaningful relationships with her young students.  I can speak on behalf of all the parents of her students...we are so lucky to have Mrs. Paribello-Orsini!”

We would like to thank Susan and Rebecca for their commitment to Catholic education at our board.
