Celebrating Staff LogoEvery week we celebrate SMCDSB staff members who have been recognized by a parent, student or colleague.

This week we are celebrating Annie Johnston, ESL Annie Johnson Itinerant Teacher at Academic Services. Annie was nominated by a colleague who said:

“Annie has been a tremendous resource for our community in welcoming newcomer families. It is evident she cares deeply for her work and is very knowledgeable about the support and resources that are available in our board and the wider community. Recently she joined us in a team meeting with a new family. Her patience, gentle manner and compassion helped put this family at ease. Her Catholic values shine through her daily work and she sets an example for others. Thank you Annie!”

Andria McGregorThis week we are also celebrating Andria McGregor, a teacher at The Good Shepherd Catholic School. Andria was nominated by a colleague, who said:

“Andria is a true blessing to our school board. She puts her heart and soul in what she does and makes her lessons engaging and fun for our students. Not only is she extremely talented in music but she inspires others like myself by the heart she puts into her teaching. I first started working with Andria at GSH. She was selfless, giving, and kind. She leads by example and was always there to give a hand. I was new to GSH and even though she was not officially my mentor she pretty much was. She taught me EVERYTHING and always shared her knowledge and resources with me. She is the true definition of a TEAM player. Everything I have learned about PREP I owe to her. Thanks, Andria, for not only inspiring our students but also being such a light to us new teachers. Thank you for truly being "The Good Shepherd" and ensuring I was not lost.”

Last, but certainly not least, we are celebrating the HR Team Human Resources team at the Catholic Education Centre. The picture does not include everyone. This group was nominated by a colleague, who said:

“The HR department works very hard to keep all SMCDSB staff happy, healthy and safe! They are a hard working group who go the extra mile and do what is needed. Throughout the difficult last few years of labour unrest, COVID and everyday life, the HR Department does everything they can to continue to move our organization forward, in staffing, health, wellness and safety.”

We would like to thank Annie, Andria, and the HR Team for their commitment to Catholic education at our board.
