Every week we celebrate SMCDSB staff members who have been recognized by a parent, student or colleague.
This week we are celebrating Kelly Rankin, a special
education resource teacher (SERT) at Sacred Heart Catholic School. Kelly was nominated by a colleague, who said:
“As the only special education teacher in our school, Kelly is constantly going above and beyond to help and support the students and families at Sacred Heart. Our little school community with a very "big heart" is blessed to have her working around the clock to provide our students with every possible opportunity to succeed. Whether she is running around in five different directions during the school day, or working late to ensure all of the necessary paperwork and forms are complete, Kelly's determination and consideration for others make her an invaluable colleague and mentor to our staff and students. We are so lucky to have such an inspiring lead in our school community who is always there to listen and help those who need her support. Thank you Kelly!”
This week we are also celebrating John Zuercher, a teacher at St. Joseph’s Catholic High School. John was nominated by a colleague, who said:
“John is the type of co-worker every educator or staff member in a school can appreciate. He is kind, funny, and always willing to generously offer his time. Whether it's helping staff clear the stage, checking the light bulb on a projector, or volunteering his time, John is always there for our staff and students. On top of all this, he's also an amazing educator and coach who has an awesome sense of humour! Thank you for being such a positive influence in the Jag Jungle!”
We would like to thank Kelly and John for their commitment to Catholic education at our board.
