Secondary Students Called to Volunteer with ChangeTheWorld
Posted on 04/21/2017

The ChangeTheWorld - Ontario Youth Volunteer Challenge is a program that aims to empower youth aged 14-18 to be a positive force in their local community. Kicking off on National Volunteer Week and running for six weeks, secondary students from across the province are encouraged to volunteer at a local volunteer centre for the 10th anniversary of the ChangeTheWorld campaign.

The campaign will run from April 23 until June 3, 2017 and will provide youth with the opportunity to volunteer with their friends, learn and develop new skills, and be part of an exciting province-wide initiative that showcases their contributions to communities in Ontario. During ChangeTheWorld, students are also able to count their hours towards the 40 community involvement hours required to obtain their Ontario Secondary School Diploma.

Last year, approximately 67,300 youth volunteered an astounding 376,073 hours across the province through this program. Now in its 10th year, the ChangeTheWorld campaign is excited to see what this year will bring.
