The 2016 Christmas Card Artwork Winner Is...
Once again this year, we received an outstanding amount of student artwork for our annual Christmas card. It was a tremendously difficult decision as we received hundreds of submissions from numerous schools and grade levels. We had several exceptional nominations that perfectly demonstrated the importance of faith and the spirit of Christmas, while showcasing the amazing talent of our students.
We are proud to announce that the 2016 Christmas Card Artwork winner is Alina Dion, a Grade 6 student from Saint Gabriel the Archangel Catholic School in Barrie. Her stunning portrayal of Mary and baby Jesus was simply breathtaking and a beautiful representation of the true meaning of Christmas. Her artwork will be featured as the cover of this year’s Christmas card and will be sent out and viewed by colleagues and partners in Catholic and public education in Ontario, as well as our Premier and Prime Minister. The Chair of the Board of Trustees and I are very excited to have such wonderful talent represent our school board.
Please join us in congratulating Alina and all of the other students who submitted their wonderful artwork. These students not only show exceptional artistic abilities, but a great understanding of the importance of faith in the spirit of the Christmas season. We thank all participants for sharing their artwork with us. It has been a pleasure to see the incredible talent of our students.
Please see our top three nominations below.
Wishing you a safe and joyous Christmas.
