As if keeping a 90% average wasn’t hard enough, Mason Robertson has also made the cut to play in The Canada Premier Baseball league. The 15 year-old will be playing with the Toronto Mets baseball team - the highest level of baseball for his age group.

The Patrick Fogarty Catholic Secondary School student survived the intense training camp and will now be exposed to high-level coaches, elite programs and facilities. Mason says that he would love to make it to the big leagues, but his ultimate goal is to get to Team Canada.

The 6’3”, 205 pound left-handed pitcher has been playing baseball since a young age, and things didn’t come easy. Mason was born with his three index fingers missing on his right hand. When he first starting playing, he would rest a glove on his right hand and quickly switch to his left. In order to become a prime player, he was told that he would have to learn how to catch a ball with his right hand.

Mason contacted Wilson Sporting Goods, who made him a custom baseball glove, allowing him to develop his full talent. Now, the Orillia athlete will continue to improve, and is doing everything in his power to get himself to his goal. His mother says that Mason strives to be one of the most hard-working players - constantly training, working out and watching what he eats.

There is no doubt that Mason Robertson is on his way to achieving great things in the baseball world. Perhaps one day we will be cheering for him on Team Canada.

Way to go Mason! We are all proud of your accomplishments, on and off the field.
