Every week we celebrate SMCDSB staff members who have been recognized by a parent, student or colleague.

This week we are celebrating Wendy Ranby and Maria Lyon.

Wendy is a teacher at Father F.X. O'Reilly Catholic School in Tottenham. She was nominated by a student, who said:

“Mrs. Ranby is one of the best teachers I’ve ever had! She has helped me out tremendously on my academic and religious journey. As a new student that came to F.X. last year, she really helped me adjust and she made it one of the easiest moves I have ever done. She made my day brighter every morning, and helped me get through Grade 8 and prepare me for Grade 9. She is very hardworking and dedicated to what she does. Thank you, Mrs. Ranby, for all your support and I miss your smile every morning.”

Maria Lyon is a teacher at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic School in Parry Sound. She was nominated by a colleague, who said:

“Maria Lyon is an amazing teacher as she inspires and ignites her maria lyonstudents to reach and achieve their goals. She is compassionate and dedicated to providing a meaningful and exciting style of learning to her classroom, which lets her students’ imaginations and personalities shine from within. She has an amazing personality and always has a smile on her face, and goes above and beyond to help her students succeed.”

We would like to thank Wendy and Maria for their commitment to Catholic education at our board.
