Heidi F. and 3D Printing PPE
Posted on 06/17/2020
Every week we celebrate individuals in the SMCDSB community who have been recognized for going above and beyond to help others during the COVID-19 pandemic. This week we are celebrating Heidi F. and a group of individuals who are using 3D printing for personal protective equipment (PPE).

Heidi F. is a student from  St. Paul's Catholic School in Alliston She was nominated by a staff member who said:

"I had the honour of teaching Heidi since she joined our school in Grade 3heidi f. and I honestly cannot speak more highly of this young woman. I, like so many others, have delighted in watching her grow in both her academic and extracurricular endeavours since that time, particularly in her musical achievements. Not only does Heidi excel in all facets of her academic life, she has also proven time and time again that she is an extremely talented musician, and a natural born leader.

The frontline workers tribute video was her idea. She has taken the leadership role in this by spearheading the project with suggestions and ideas to make this video the best it can be with connections to Alliston and the St. Paul’s Community. She has reached out to the local businesses who have changed operations to help with the COVID-19 cause all the way to Stephenson Memorial Hospital in Alliston to ask for pictures of their employees who are helping out on the frontline. She has also participated and excelled in St. Paul’s Glee’s Physical Distance Version of I Swear and took a leadership role in our Online Easter Liturgy.”
