Interested in a Precision Metal Cutting Trade?

Interested in a skilled trade? The precision metal cutting (PMC) trade is in high demand and recruiting efforts have begun for the 2017-18 Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) PMC Program.


The OYAP PMC Program is a unique opportunity for up to 20 students from Simcoe and Muskoka. Those selected to participate will;

  • Become registered apprentices;

  • Obtain on-the-job training; and,

  • Complete the first level of apprenticeship in-school training at Georgian College in Barrie.


For students interested in the precision metal cutting trade, two information session are being offered this month:

The ideal candidate will be a student who has an interest in pursuing the precision metal cutting trades such as General Machinist, Tool & Die Maker and Mould Maker. Candidates must;

  • Be entering Grade 12 in September 2017;

  • Have strong math marks; and,

  • Be enrolled in a four credit co-op in second semester 2018.


Students and their parents are welcome to attend either session and are encouraged to register via the link above.
