This week, we celebrate Nadia Traina, a teacher at St. Marie of the Incarnation Catholic School. Nadia was nominated by a colleague who said:

“Nadia goes above and beyond to help anyone in need. She puts the needs of others before her own needs. She starts the morning every day outside, greeting all students in the schoolyard with a smile. Her students come to school every day with smiles, knowing which class they are in. Her students clearly love her, and the same with the staff. Nadia can frequently be seen around the school during her preps and lunch, trying to help someone instead of taking a break. Everyone is thankful for her!”

“Alison goes above and beyond daily to take the time to listen to her students and to take care of their needs. As a co-op teacher, she works collaboratively with students to help them find their path after high school and has seen great success with impacts on the motivation and achievement of so many students. Recently, Alison became aware that one of her students was experiencing a period of homelessness. She brought the students breakfast, bought them clothes and toiletries from fundraising money she had access to, and then connected them with community support. She is a teacher to be celebrated.”

“Kim Venturini is an amazing and inspirational person which contributes to her being an exceptional teacher, colleague, and friend. I have had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the remarkable dedication, passion, and expertise that she brings to JOA.

Kim is more than just a teacher; she is a true educator in every sense of the word.  She possesses a rare combination of pedagogical skill, creativity, and genuine care for her students that sets her apart. In the classroom, learning becomes an engaging and transformative experience, where every student feels valued, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential.  She fosters a positive and inclusive classroom environment where mutual respect, empathy, and collaboration are cultivated. Her genuine interest in her students shines through in her unwavering support and encouragement, both inside and outside the classroom.

Kim is not only committed to the growth of her students but also provides a wealth of knowledge, understanding, and support for those in her department.  Kim is able to help all of her colleagues by consistently demonstrating leadership, teamwork, and a willingness to go the extra mile for the betterment of everyone. We know that she “has our back” and is willing to support any of our needs.
