Every week we celebrate SMCDSB staff members who have been recognized by a parent, student or colleague.
This week we are celebrating Susan Marshall, ESL/ELD
Itinerant Resource Teacher at Academic Services. Susan was nominated by a colleague, who said:
“Susan has demonstrated how integral she is in providing a warm welcome and helpful resources for ELL students and their families who are new to our schools. Susan is always extremely prompt, responsive, and connective with our school as new students start. She is warm, kind, and patient and I have witnessed many times how much she is appreciated by students, their families, and the teachers receiving these students. Susan really goes above and beyond to support our ELL students and their families.”
This week we are also celebrating Tony Pappas, a teacher at Holy Cross Catholic School. Tony was nominated by a colleague, who said:
“Tony P. always greets staff and students with kindness and warmth. He is always willing to help new staff, students, and coaches on many of the school teams. He is always cheerful with a listening ear and stays positive. He encourages his students, past and present, to be good role models, work hard, and holds them accountable.”
We would like to thank Susan and Tony for their commitment to Catholic education at our board.
